All Star Cheer is a competition sport that involves boys and girls performing a routine composed of tumbling, stunting, pyramid and dance. We do not cheer for another sport such as football or basketball. We are our own independent competitive team! All Star is highly competitive and physically demanding.
Cheerleaders quickly learn the concept of "team" and what it means to be an important part of the "machine" that is your team. Without everyone there, the machine does not work. It teaches you to encourage your teammates and try your hardest to do your best. It teaches time management and organizational skills. All Star teaches and promotes fitness and good health choices, as our bodies cannot do the things required of this sport if we are not fit and healthy. It sets the tone for a lifestyle of healthy choices.
Your athlete will learn skills such as tumbling, stunting, dancing, flexibility, coordination, strength, showmanship, self-confidence, dedication, teamwork, courage, and perseverance! The bonds formed among members are as close to family as you can get!
Teams are formed based on ages and skill level. We like to think of our teams as puzzles and each athlete as a puzzle piece that fits into that puzzle. Each piece is unique! Each piece has a special place in the puzzle! It’s wonderful that we are all different! We all have our own strengths and skills to share! And when we come together as a team, it’s an amazing thing!
Beginners are always welcome! We always like to say, "You don't have to be great to start, but you do have to start to be great!" Don't be shy! Shake off the nerves and head into the gym!
